Rice Bowl Recipes

Rice Bowls are a quick and nutritious meal providing a serving of whole grains, vegetables and lean protein that children love. They are easy to plan, prepare and serve.

Thai Rice Bowl with Soy Nut Butter Sauce

  1. The perfect foundation: Brown Rice
    Start with ½- 1 cup cooked brown rice
  2. The middle layer: Colorful Vegetables (red & yellow peppers, broccoli, snap peas)
    Start with ½ cup lightly steamed fresh or frozen vegetables (select your variety)
  3. The top layer: Lean Protein (chicken, beef, seafood or tofu)
    Top your rice bowl with your choice of protein.

Finishing touches...Sauce & Garnish (bean sprouts & grated carrots)

Soy Nut Sauce

  • ½ cup Water
  • 1/3 cup Soy Nut Butter**
  • 1 tsp Minced Garlic
  • 1 TBSP Brown Sugar
  • 1/8 tsp Crushed Red Pepper (optional)
  • 1 ½ tsp Soy Sauce
  • ¾ tsp Lemon Juice

In medium saucepan over medium heat, combine water, garlic and soy nut butter and cook until mixture comes to a boil & thickens. Remove from heat & stir in remaining ingredients. Cool and serve.
